The SGR Compensation and Benefits survey is a data tool that allows state government relations professionals to compare their compensation and benefits structure against individuals and groups across the country. This tool can help evaluate your organization's departmental structure and compensation.
The 2024 survey has opened. All participants who complete at least 50% of the survey will receive access to the 2024 survey findings as well as the Executive Summary.
Participating in the SGR Compensation and Benefits Survey is crucial to understanding how your organization and you as an individual compare to other SGR organizations and professionals. All participants that complete at least 50% of the survey unlock access to receive the survey findings. Individual responses are confidential and survey results will be analyzed in the aggregate.
These findings are dynamic so you will be able to use a number of filters (including but not limited to organization type, years in the field, and department budget) to dissect the information and compare how you and your department benchmark against others in the field.
Survey data is collected through a platform designed by Dynamic Benchmarking in partnership with SGAC.

Can more than one person per organization enter data? Should the most senior individual at an organization fill out the survey?
Yes. Multiple individuals in the SGR field from a single organization can create an account and complete the survey to receive findings.
Do all of the survey questions have to be answered at one time?
No. You are welcome to login and out as many times as necessary. Please be sure to click "Save" at the bottom of every page to save your answers. Please note there is no final "submit" button. Once the survey collection period has closed, data will not be able to be changed.

No. Not all questions may be applicable to each individual. Please note it is important to complete as much of the survey as possible. The platform will provide a percentage completion at the bottom of the home page.
