Member Services

The Member Services Committee is responsible for enhancing the SGAC membership experience. The committee reviews and develops membership through: raising SGAC awareness, recruitment, engagement, renewal, and reinstatement.

Time Commitment: Monthly meetings & occasional assignments

Communications

The Communications Committee helps with content ideas for our website, social media, podcast, and email outreach. It's a great fit for those with digital strategy experience - or anyone with fresh ideas.

Leaders' Policy Conference

The Leaders' Policy Conference Committee is responsible for creating the policy agenda for SGAC Foundation's Leaders' Policy Conference. Committee members work to decide which topics are of most relevance for the legislative leadership. The committee also strategizes the recruitment of legislative leadership for LPC attendance, working hard to ensure all 50 states and territories are represented.

Public Sector Outreach

The Public Sector Outreach Committee is responsible for increasing SGAC's footprint among elected state officials across the country. The committee helps develop and implement campaigns to educate elected state government officials on the benefits of participating in SGAC events and growing relationships with the private-sector community. The committee works with the Leaders' Policy Conference Planning Committee. It also explores partnership expansions with: governors, AGs, and local government officials.

Time Commitment: Varies, calls on occasion and leading up to LPC.

National Summit

The National Summit Committee is responsible for creating the educational agenda for SGAC's National Summit and ensures topics are timely and captivating for SGR member attendees. The committee also decides which philanthropy endeavor SGAC will pursue, and plans the social events for enhanced networking.

Education & Training

The Education & Training Committee oversees SGAC's Certificate and Advanced Certificate programs and ensure SGAC is offering meaningful and timely content through webinars, regional trainings, and other educational resources.

Young Professionals

The Young Professionals Committee is responsible for outreach to and engagement of state government relations employees of SGAC member organizations who are age 35 and younger. Committee activities will include, but are not limited to, organizing professional development and networking events and programs geared toward those in SGAC membership who are in the beginning to early middle of their careers. The committee is also responsible for the planning and executing of appropriate sessions and events for young professionals in state government relations with the support of SGAC staff and in collaboration with the other SGAC committees.
