SGAC Gives Back! We are thrilled to have helped the Dallas Education Foundation during the 2024 National Summit, offering SGAC members multiple ways to make a difference
The Dallas Education Foundation is committed to advancing literacy by putting books into the hands and homes of our Dallas ISD students. With 86% of Dallas ISD's student population being economically disadvantaged , a majority of our students lack age-appropriate books at home. SGAC partnered with several other organizations to provide a fully stocked book vending machine to a high-need elementary school in Dallas ISD. Through this program, students will be able to earn tokens, "purchase" a culturally relevant book of their choice, and take it home to start building their home library.
During National Summit The Dallas Education Foundation showcased one of their book vending machines, which are placed in high-need elementary schools. The machines allow children to select books to take home, fostering a love for reading. We're thrilled The Dallas Education Foundation brought one of the vending machines to our conference!
