Competency Description: A law begins as an idea, and how the idea becomes a law is quite a journey. Take a deep dive into the operations of state legislative bodies. Examine how they differ; how hearings, markups and reports work, and examine how rules and procedures help or hurt legislation. Take a closer look at how the varying procedures and idiosyncrasies from state to state can impact your work. This is a mandatory competency of the State Government Relations Professional Certificate Program.
